Sexual Abuse
Sexual Abuse happens to men as well. Men are sexually abused. Men are raped. Men are sexually coerced. And it’s just as traumatic as it is for women.
Sexual Abuse
This is one of the hardest topics to talk about. And for men, it's almost impossible. Because nobody wants to admit it. Nobody wants to believe it. Nobody wants to talk about it.
But it happens. Men are sexually abused. Men are raped. Men are sexually coerced. And it's just as traumatic as it is for women.
What Sexual Abuse Looks Like
Rape
Forced sex. Unwanted penetration. Sexual acts you didn't consent to. Including in marriage. Marital rape is rape.
Coercion
Using threats, guilt, or manipulation to get you to have sex. Making you feel like you have to. Making you feel like you owe it to her. "If you loved me, you would."
Unwanted Sexual Contact
Touching you in ways you don't want. Sexual acts you didn't agree to. Being pressured into sexual acts you find degrading or humiliating.
Sexual Intimidation
Using sexual threats to control you. Threatening to tell people you're gay or not man enough. Threatening to withhold sex as punishment.
Punishment
Using sex as a weapon. Withholding intimacy to punish you. Demanding sex as a condition of peace. Using your sexuality against you.
The Myth of "Men Always Want It"
This is the lie that keeps men silent. The idea that men are always ready. Always willing. Always up for it.
It's not true. Men can say no. Men can be coerced. Men can be raped. And their bodies can respond even when they don't want it. That's biology. Not consent.
The Damage It Does
Sexual abuse destroys your sense of safety. Your sense of trust. Your sense of your own body. It makes you feel violated. Broken. Dirty.
And because of the myths, you might blame yourself. You might think you wanted it. You might think it's not "real" sexual assault because you're a man.
It is real. And it's not your fault.
What You Can Do
Acknowledge it. Name what happened to you. It's sexual abuse. It's rape. It's coercion. It's not your fault.
Get professional help. Sexual abuse requires specialized therapy. Find someone who works with male survivors. You don't have to carry this alone.
Document it. Use the Abuse Log. Write down what happened. When it happened. How she coerced or forced you. This is evidence. And it's also a way to validate your own experience.
Tell someone. Tell someone you trust. A friend. A therapist. A hotline. The silence is what keeps you trapped. Speaking is the first step to freedom.
Know your rights. Sexual abuse is a crime. You have the right to report it. You have the right to be believed. You have the right to heal.
Sexual abuse is not about sex. It's about power. And it's never your fault. Never.
