Abuse Log

Our Abuse Log gives you a private, encrypted place to document abusive incidents while they’re still fresh in your mind. Whether you’re trying to better understand your own situation or preserve an accurate record for the future

WHAT IS THE ABUSE LOG?

Abuse often happens gradually. Over time, memories fade, details become harder to recall, and repeated incidents can begin to blend together.

The Brotherhood HQ Abuse Log gives you a private, encrypted place to document abusive incidents while they're still fresh in your mind. Whether you're trying to better understand your own situation or preserve an accurate record for the future, the goal is simple:

Help you recognize patterns instead of isolated events.

Every entry becomes part of your personal timeline, making it easier to review what happened, when it happened, and how often similar behaviors occur.

HOW CAN THE ABUSE LOG HELP ME?

The Abuse Log is designed to help you document events as they happen, instead of relying on memory weeks, months, or even years later.

Many survivors begin questioning themselves over time.

"Maybe it wasn't that bad."

"Maybe I'm remembering it wrong."

"Maybe I'm overreacting."

Keeping a written record helps reduce that uncertainty by allowing you to review what actually happened instead of trying to reconstruct events from memory.

The Abuse Log can help you:

  • Recognize recurring patterns of abusive behavior.
  • Preserve important details while they're still fresh.
  • Organize events into a clear timeline.
  • Reduce self-doubt by relying on documented facts.
  • Prepare for conversations with an attorney, therapist, advocate, or another trusted professional if you choose to do so.
  • Securely share selected records whenever you decide the time is right.

HOW TO USE THE ABUSE LOG?

Step 1

Create your Brotherhood HQ account.

Step 2

Record incidents as soon as possible after they occur.

Step 3

Describe what happened as accurately and objectively as you can.

Step 4

Review your Abuse Tracker occasionally to identify patterns that may not be obvious from individual incidents.

Step 5

If you decide to share your records, generate a Secure Access Link and choose exactly what information you want to make available and for how long.

WHAT THIS TOOL DOES NOT DO

The Abuse Log is a documentation tool. It is designed to help you preserve your own records—it does not replace emergency services, legal advice, therapy, or medical care.

The Abuse Log does not:

  • Contact law enforcement or emergency services.
  • Notify anyone about your situation.
  • Tell you whether your relationship is abusive.
  • Verify whether the events you record actually occurred.
  • Replace professional legal, medical, or mental health support.

Brotherhood Institute verifies only that a shared record matches the original record submitted through the Abuse Log. We do not verify the truthfulness or accuracy of the information entered by users.

If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services immediately.

You can control this from your dashboard

Yes. Abuse Log entries are stored using encryption to help protect your information from unauthorized access.
Management can see if you have any entries in your account but they can not see any details about the abuse.
Users are only allowed access to their own Abuse Log, not anyone else's.

Brotherhood Institute is designed to protect your privacy. While the system stores your entries securely, we do not monitor or review Abuse Log entries as part of our normal operations. We only have access to a list of entries and we are able to see the date of the entries, we can NOT read the details on the abuse itself.

No. Once an Abuse Log entry has been submitted, it becomes a permanent record and cannot be edited or modified.
This helps preserve the original information exactly as it was recorded.

No. Individual entries cannot be permanently deleted. This helps preserve the integrity of your timeline.

Yes. You may request permanent deletion of your entire Abuse Log at any time.

For your protection, Brotherhood HQ places the request into a 30-day protection period before any records are permanently removed. During that time, you may cancel the request and restore your records.

Secure Access Links allow you to share selected Abuse Log records -or your entire Abuse Log- with an attorney, therapist, advocate, or another trusted person through a temporary, read-only verification page.

You control what is shared, how long the link remains active, and you can revoke access at any time before it expires.

It means Brotherhood Institute has confirmed that the record being viewed matches the permanent encrypted record originally submitted through the Abuse Log. It does not mean Brotherhood Institute has verified whether the events described actually occurred.

Brotherhood Institute cannot provide legal advice or guarantee whether your records will be accepted in court. If you believe your records may become part of legal proceedings, consult a qualified attorney for guidance.

Sensitive actions, such as requesting permanent deletion of your Abuse Log or your account, require additional identity verification through two-factor authentication. Brotherhood HQ also includes a 30-day protection period before permanently deleting your records to help prevent accidental or unauthorized loss.
